Becca Coleman

CEA

Meet Becca, a joyful and kind adventurer, who will be working this year at Alzar as a CEA. Becca grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and then studied at Appalachian State University. She majored in Education and minored in Dance. As a student she worked on campus as a Toddler/Preschool Teacher, the farmers market, at an Alpaca farm, and led trips for Outdoor Programs at the university. Her career path is as winding as the rivers she guides down.  Now with a decade of experience in the outdoor industry, Becca has guided class five rafting, backpacking, sea kayaking, mountaineering, and caving. In the winter Becca worked as a ski instructor in Park City, Utah. Becca has enjoyed working seasonally which allows time to travel in the shoulder seasons. Most recently she spent a year living in New Zealand, working on the Kaituna river, as the head chef on an overnight cruise in Milford Sound and working as a Ski instructor at Cardrona. Becca’s passions are as diverse as her career. She has a love for whitewater, climbing, biking, camping, and all things nature. She’s a pottery enthusiast, often drawing inspiration from nature and wildlife. She’s always keen for ultimate frisbee, dedicated to health and cherishes time and meals shared with friends. Becca is excited to bring her zest for life to Alzar.
